Finish - Hard Wax Oil
Sourced from trees that had to be felled a few years ago in our woodland. I was therefore even more determined to put this wood to good use and really make the most of it.
A simple graphic shape, beautifully subtle grain and very smooth surface make this a delight to hold and admire.
Sweet Chestnut is really a delight to work with. This piece is ‘end grain turned’, which means the grain runs through the vertical axis. A slightly different method for making is required but this allows much taller sections to be turned, more suitable for this vessel design.
