Bowl made from Rippled Field Maple 

Size - D 15cm x H 6cm 

Finish - Hard Wax Oil - food safe and durable 

Sourced from a Field Maple tree over 100 years old on the edge of our woodland. This tree unfortunately had to be felled last year. It has however provided us with a good amount of beautiful material.

This piece has some delightful rippled grain, with some flame like bands licking the side of the bowl. 

The design is new for this collection and quite  architectural in style. My previous profession still influencing my designs today, always aiming to be simple and refined. Sharp angled outer walls are contrasted buy the curved interior. A very thin rim gives an elegance and feeling of lightness to the piece. 

The wood has been kiln dried which has altered the natural colour from a pale cream to a light golden brown.

Designed to be ornamental but can take light food use.
